The story
Tucked a few steps from the Place du Vieux-Marché, OKTO occupies a welcoming space on the rue du Vieux-Palais. The kitchen here focuses on modern cuisine with a bistronomic approach: seasonal produce, short supply chains, and clean, precise flavours. The setting is understated and pleasant, with outdoor seating available for warmer days.
The carte changes with the market, but recent offerings reveal a steady hand. Starters such as endive with mâche, foie gras sauce, and brown mushroom sit alongside langoustine with Ratte du Touquet potatoes, langoustine sabayon, and French caviar. Mains include Saint-Pierre with a leek barbajuan, Pourville oyster, and iodised emulsion, or the pré-salé lamb rack with celery mousseline, confit shoulder, wild garlic, and a bold jus.
Desserts are equally thoughtful: a chocolate composition with ganache, coffee-tonka ice cream, and warm mousse, or a fresh apple dessert with sorbet, skyr, combava gel, kiwi, and crumble.
At lunch, a two- or three-course menu offers excellent value (31–36 €), featuring dishes like lieu jaune in place of the Saint-Pierre. In the evening, a four-course tasting menu (75 € per person) is available for the whole table, drawing from the à la carte selections.
OKTO’s dedication to quality, its use of local ingredients, and its precise execution earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026 – a fitting nod for a restaurant that quietly delivers thoughtful modern cuisine in the heart of Rouen.
