The story

Brasserie d'Asten – Bib Gourmand in Binic, Côtes-d'Armor

A restaurant with a view

Facing the sea on the port of Binic, Brasserie d'Asten (also known as Asten Restaurant) occupies a contemporary, minimalist space that makes the most of its panoramic setting. The architecture is clean and transparent, with large windows that erase the boundary between the dining room and the ever-changing seascape. The restaurant describes itself as “a place where harmony and authenticity go hand in hand with inspired gastronomy.”

The chef and his craft

Breton-born Samuel Selosse learned the foundations of traditional cuisine at Monsieur Chandouineau in Redon before refining his skills at several celebrated houses: Le Coquillage with Olivier Roellinger, La Pyramide with Patrick Henriroux, and Le K2 with Gatien Demczyna. Back in his native region, on the shores of the Goëlo, he now expresses a cuisine that is both creative and modern. “Simplicity, naturalness, and authenticity invite you to dream and travel through taste,” reads the restaurant’s motto.

What’s on the table

The kitchen works with a network of local producers—market gardeners, breeders, butchers, fishermen, and bakers—to build menus that respect the environment and highlight the best of the terroir. The “Table d’Asten” offers a gastronomic experience built on fresh, high-quality ingredients, subtly transformed by the chef’s technique.

Three menus are available: the Menu du Marché at €45 (lunch only, weekdays), a Menu Sentier at €72, and a Menu de nos Côtes at €97—the latter an ode to the sea, with multiple courses inspired by Breton coastal treasures. Optional wine pairings and extras like a cheese trolley or signature cocktail complete the meal.

A Bib Gourmand worth the trip

The Michelin guide’s Bib Gourmand distinction recognises “good quality, good value cooking,” and Brasserie d’Asten delivers just that. The combination of a dramatic sea view, precise cooking, and a commitment to fresh, local ingredients makes this a restaurant where the quality of the experience comfortably exceeds the price.
