The story
In the Maurienne valley, on the road to the Col de la Madeleine and the Saint-François Longchamp ski station, Le Clocher des Pères occupies a fully restored 15th-century fortified house. Perched on a promontory at 600 metres above sea level, it looks out over the Belledonne mountain range.
The restaurant seats about fifteen guests on the ground floor, with three guest rooms—La Clarine, La Campanelle, and La Tintinnabule—upstairs. Each room offers a view of the valley and the chain of Belledonne.
The kitchen has earned a Michelin star, described by the guide as "cuisine of great finesse, worth the detour." Two tasting menus are offered: Le Dernier Cri, a five-course experience, and La Haute Couture, a six-course journey. The cooking is rooted in modern cuisine, drawing on the ingredients of the Savoie region without unnecessary flourishes.
Le Clocher des Pères is a place where the setting and the plate speak the same language—quiet, precise, and unmistakably Alpine.
