Lauryvan – Modern Cuisine in Saint-Junien, Recommended by Michelin

Since 1996, Lauryvan has been a fixture on the heights of the Vienne valley, in Saint-Junien, set within a four-hectare park that brings calm and a sense of escape just a few kilometres from Limoges. The property is run as two distinct experiences: Côté Restaurant, serving Friday to Sunday and on public holidays, and Côté Bistrot, open for lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday. This dual format allows guests to choose between a more formal tasting experience and a relaxed, spontaneous meal – both expressions of the same kitchen.

The cuisine at Lauryvan is contemporary French, grounded in seasonal market produce. The bistro menu features a weekly changing Hebdo du Chef at lunch, a single menu offered at 25 € for three courses. Recent offerings have included rillettes of salmon with lemon and fresh cheese, duo of pork – confit belly and fillet mignon – with a reduced jus and potato purée, and a pudding with candied fruits and crème anglaise. The kitchen accommodates gluten-free and vegetarian requests on advance notice, though vegan or lactose-free dishes are not possible due to the nature of the setup.

The wine list is noted for its interest and is personally guided by Laurent Breuil, who advises guests on pairings. The restaurant also offers a full catering and seminar service, and operates guest rooms under the name Jakin & Boaz, making it possible to extend the evening into an overnight stay.

Lauryvan has been recognised by the Michelin guide, a mark of the consistent quality and thoughtful cooking that has kept this address relevant for nearly three decades. The setting, the gentle pace of the Limousin countryside, and the clear focus on produce-oriented modern cuisine make it a destination for those who value substance over show.
