The story
At the edge of the Côtes du Rhône vineyards, in the quiet village of Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes, Campagne, Vignes et Gourmandises offers a genuinely relaxed Provencal dining experience. Chef Sylvain, the restaurant’s owner and cook, works with seasonal market produce sourced from local producers. The result is a concise, market-driven menu that changes regularly.
The setting is simple and welcoming. A large mulberry tree shades the terrace, which was recently expanded for more comfort. Inside, the dining room is described as “accueillant et reposant” – a place where the pace slows down. The atmosphere is warm and convivial, without formality.
Recent dishes on the menu include a black pudding tart from butcher Christian Parra, confit onions, and a fillet of hake with melted butter and red Camargue rice. Cheese arrives as a Rocamadour with honey and local olive oil, finished with toasted sesame seeds. Dessert might be an ivory mousse with citrus juice. The menu du marché, available at lunch on weekdays, is priced at 29€.
The restaurant’s consistency has been recognized by the Michelin guide every year since 2007. It also holds a Gault & Millau recommendation. For a restaurant that describes itself as a place where “you will feast” under the shade of a mulberry tree, the recognition feels earned – not from ambition, but from steady, honest cooking rooted in the Provencal landscape.
