The story
Atelier Salone is the bistrot side of chef Alexandre Lechêne’s two-restaurant concept in Salon-de-Provence. Open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch only, it serves a daily-changing menu that balances speed and refinement – ideal for a business lunch, a family gathering, or a leisurely midday break. The formula is simple: a chalkboard menu updated each day according to the season, with perennial favourites like the perfect egg and a classic soufflé for dessert. Prices are fixed at 34 € for two courses, 40 € for three.
Chef Lechêne works with a network of local artisans – from spirulina growers in Berre-l’Étang to legume farmers in the Hautes-Alpes. His cooking draws on the rich terroir between the Alpilles, the Camargue, and the Crau plain, where wild herbs and high-quality produce come together naturally. The result is a modern bistro cuisine that feels both grounded and effortless. The Michelin Bib Gourmand award recognises the consistent quality and value of this approach, making Atelier Salone a dependable choice for thoughtful, regional cooking in a welcoming setting.
