The story
Le Bout des Canards is the story of Pauline and Pierre, a young couple who turned a dream into reality. Pierre, the chef, honed his craft in several gastronomic houses, including the prestigious Villa René Lalique in Wingen-sur-Moder. Pauline, who earned the Gault & Millau Young Talent Award for service, brings warmth and expertise to the dining room. Together, they have created a restaurant that is as audacious as it is generous.
The dining room strikes a balance between elegance and comfort. It is a space designed for sharing, whether for a quiet lunch or a celebratory dinner. The team’s attention to detail is evident from the moment you walk in, with Pauline personally guiding guests through the menu.
Pierre’s cooking is rooted in fresh, local ingredients and driven by a desire to surprise. The à la carte changes with the seasons, but signatures include the crispy Jambonneau with kohlrabi and cider vinegar, the Tartare de Thon Rouge with oyster mushrooms and harissa vinaigrette, and a delicate Œuf en cuisson douce paired with white asparagus and broad beans.
For those who prefer a structured meal, the lunch menu (24€) offers a starter, main, and dessert. The Immersion (50€), Découverte (64€), and Surprise (78€) menus allow for a deeper exploration of the chef’s style. Desserts, like the Rhubarbe with rice pudding mousse or the Bière Brune gaufrette with caramel, are equally inventive.
The restaurant’s consistent quality and creativity have earned it a place in the Michelin guide’s Recommended selection. This recognition reflects the dedication of the entire team and the memorable experience they deliver in the heart of Lorraine.
Le Bout des Canards is a destination for those who appreciate thoughtful, modern cuisine served with genuine hospitality.
