The story
Since March 2021, Noémie and Anthony Schauer have been welcoming guests to Au Soleil, a family restaurant set in the heart of Soultz-sous-Forêts, in the Outre Forêts region. The restaurant’s name, meaning “in the sun,” reflects the warm, relaxed atmosphere they have created – a place where guests are invited to feel at home.
Chef Anthony Schauer leads the kitchen with a philosophy built on fresh, local ingredients and seasonal inspiration. The menu changes according to what is available, with a focus on homemade, bistronomique cooking. At lunch, guests can choose from daily specials and suggestions, while the evening menu offers a more refined expression of the chef’s modern cuisine. The cooking is described as both indulgent and flavourful, driven by the quality of the produce and the creativity of the moment.
The restaurant’s commitment to this approach has earned it a Michelin Recommended award, a recognition that speaks to the consistency and care found in every dish. It is a testament to the Schauers’ dedication to their craft and their region.
Au Soleil is more than a place to eat – it is a space for gathering. The restaurant offers catering, private parties, and takeaway, making it a versatile choice for any occasion. Whether stopping by for a midday meal or settling in for an evening of bistronomique dining, the Schauers aim to provide a moment of pleasure and conviviality. With air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, the setting is as comfortable as it is welcoming.
