The story
Chef Robin Dorgler’s cooking is a map of his travels. From the Andes in Argentina to Mount Maya in Japan, and the autumn forests of Canada, each dish carries a memory. At Miro, located in Ostwald just outside Strasbourg, he brings these experiences together with a deep respect for Alsace. “I cherish my region,” he writes, and he works closely with local producers, artisans, and winemakers to highlight the best of the terroir.
Miro’s cuisine is a fusion of Alsatian roots and international flavors. The lunch menu, Menu Plaisir (€34), offers options like daurade carpaccio with combava and yuzu, or a perfect egg with pea emulsion. Main courses include beef bavette with chimichurri and smoked sweet potato, or cavatelli with pistachio pesto. By evening, the menu becomes more adventurous: sashimi of fugu, Argentine choripan-chimichurri, or Peruvian papa rellena. Three tasting menus – Dégustation, Aventure, and Jardin – let you explore further.
Miro holds a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, and the Peace and Work GOLD label from Teritoria for workplace quality. In 2022, it won the public prize at The Fork Awards. The restaurant features outdoor seating, a private room, and wheelchair access. The team prioritizes well-being, with closing times at 15:15 for lunch and 23:15 for dinner.
Robin Dorgler’s goal is to welcome you as he was welcomed around the world. “I hope to welcome you chez nous as I was lucky to be welcomed everywhere I went,” he says. At Miro, that hospitality is expressed through plates that tell stories – of faraway places and the soil of Alsace, all on one table.
