The story

Le Moulin de L'Imaginaire: Bistronomy by Chef Fabienne Eymard in Terrasson-Lavilledieu

A riverside setting in the heart of Terrasson-Lavilledieu

Le Moulin de L'Imaginaire sits on the banks of the Vézère River, at the entrance to the Dordogne valley. From the terrace, guests take in an uninterrupted view of the 12th-century Pont Vieux. Inside, two dining rooms open onto the water, furnished for comfort and warmth. The restaurant’s name—the mill of the imagination—hints at the creativity that drives the kitchen.

Chef Fabienne Eymard’s path to the stove

Fabienne Eymard grew up in nearby Limousin, where Sunday lunches at her grandparents’ farm during the grape harvest sparked a lasting passion for the flavours of the southwest. She trained at the hotel school in Toulouse, then moved to Paris in 2000 to learn from Alain Solivérès, first at Le Vernet and later at Taillevent. After four years at the Caprice, she joined Ducasse Entreprise, honing her craft under one of France’s most exacting chefs. At Le Moulin de L'Imaginaire, she cooks freely, with the open kitchen visible as soon as you walk in.

Bistronomy anchored in the terroir

The cuisine is bistronomy—refined, ingredient-driven, and rooted in the region. The menu changes with the seasons and the market. Recent examples include white asparagus from the Dordogne served warm with an orange mousseline, a terrine of the day with pickled vegetables, and pigeon roasted in its jus alongside a grilled gambas. Desserts such as a seasonal fruit tart round out the meal. A lunch menu at €20 and a three-course formula at €39 (midweek, excluding holidays) make the experience accessible.

Recognition from Michelin

In 2026, the Michelin guide awarded Le Moulin de L'Imaginaire its “Recommended” distinction, a nod to the precision and personality of Fabienne Eymard’s cooking. The restaurant also offers a tea salon, takeaway, and private event hosting, but the heart of the experience remains the river-facing dining room where local products take centre stage.
