The story
In Tournus, on the historic Route Nationale 6, the Maison Greuze houses two very different tables. Alongside the Michelin-starred L’Écrin de Yohann Chapuis sits Le Bouchon Bourguignon – a place where Burgundy’s terroir takes centre stage in the most welcoming way.
Yohann and Stéphanie Chapuis have breathed new life into this address. The Bouchon is their tribute to the classic bouchon lyonnais, but with a distinctly Burgundian soul. The décor is classic yet contemporary: comfortable banquettes, wooden tables, a room that feels both lively and relaxed. Here, conviviality is the guest of honour.
The kitchen, led by chef Sylvain Escalier, turns out generous, flavour-driven dishes rooted in the region. Terrines, persillés, escargots – the classics you hope for – share the menu with a dessert trolley that invites a second look. The cooking is honest, skilled, and built for sharing, exactly the kind of good-value, good-quality fare that earned Le Bouchon its Michelin Bib Gourmand award.
The same passion that drives the Chapuis’s gastronomic project flows through this bistro. The team is young and energetic, and the wine list – curated by longtime sommelier Etienne Durivault, with over 800 references across the Maison – offers plenty of reasons to linger.
Le Bouchon Bourguignon is a place to pull up a chair, push the boat out, and enjoy Burgundy at its most genuine.
