The story
After stints in prestigious kitchens in France and abroad, Valérie and Jérôme Roy opened L'Opidom in Fondettes, just ten minutes from Tours. Set on the banks of the Loire, the restaurant earned a Michelin star for its high-quality, emotionally driven cooking. The couple's pursuit of excellence is visible in every detail, from the warm, intimate dining room to the veranda that opens onto the surrounding landscape. A private salon is available for family events or business meals.
Jérôme Roy is a native of the region, and his modern cuisine is rooted in the products of Touraine. Citrus fruits and spices are his trademarks — he uses them to gently surprise the palate. One signature dish is the rillons of Touraine, lacquered with soy sauce, refreshed with a splash of yuzu juice, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Roy describes himself as a creative obsessed with the product; his goal is to let guests discover the best of nature while taking them on a journey through unexpected combinations. The Michelin star recognizes this demanding, original approach.
The atmosphere at L'Opidom shifts with the space. The main room offers comfort and soft colours; the veranda feels open and airy. Whichever you choose, the setting allows you to fully appreciate Roy's modern cuisine, where local ingredients meet global accents. The result is a dining experience that feels both rooted and adventurous — exactly as the Roys intended.
