The story
Overlooking the Ouvèze river and the medieval city of Vaison-la-Romaine, Le Bistro Panoramique is the flagship restaurant of Les Maisons Du'O. The modern dining room, with large windows that let the Provençal landscape in, sets the stage for a meal that is both grounded and elevated.
Chef Philippe Zemour and his brigade work with ingredients sourced close to home. The menu highlights high-quality meats from nearby producers, alongside seasonal fish, vegetables, and fruits. The goal is a "véritable voyage gustatif" – a true gustatory journey – that celebrates the flavours of the Provence region. The cuisine is rooted in the terroir, with dishes that change according to the market and the chef's inspiration.
Gaëlle and Philippe Zemour opened their first restaurant in Vaison-la-Romaine in 2013. A decade later, the Maisons Du'O has grown to include four guest rooms, Le Bistro Panoramique, and a sharing restaurant called La Barjaca. The restaurant has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a recognition of the consistent quality and the compelling experience it offers. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, the welcome is warm, the setting serene, and the cooking direct and honest.
