The story
Just outside Vannes in the quiet village of Meucon, Auberge du Rohan has earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026. The restaurant presents a cuisine that is both refined and rooted in tradition, drawing on the best of the region’s seasonal produce.
The dining room is described as chaleureux et cosy – warm and comfortable. In fine weather, the terrace and tree-filled park become part of the experience. Two tasting menus change regularly with the seasons: the Menu du Rohan (amuse-bouche, entrée, plat, dessert) and the more generous Menu Saveurs, which adds a second entrée. A recent iteration of the Saveurs menu featured a lobster cassolette among its courses, a sign of the kitchen’s ambition.
Plates from the gallery hint at a modern, careful hand: foie gras with soft spices and beetroot chutney, house-smoked salmon with fennel and ginger cream, an egg perfectly cooked with salmon and asparagus, and a volaille farcie with foie gras. Desserts such as citron-coco-amande and litchi-mangue-passion show a balance of freshness and technique. Wine pairings are available in three, four, or five-glass options.
Auberge du Rohan also offers catering, private parties, and takeaway meal kits – a sign of a kitchen that knows how to adapt without losing its character. Whether for a special occasion or a simple lunch, this is a restaurant that delivers consistent, polished French cuisine in a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.
