The story
In the heart of Vire, L'Atelier du Goût is the project of two young chefs, Jordan and Clément. After four years of apprenticeship and eight years as sous chefs in prestigious houses, they opened their own address. Their bond, forged both in work and in private life, is the foundation of the restaurant. As they put it: “Good cooking is like friendship: honest, sincere, and simple.”
The restaurant offers a modern cuisine that changes with the seasons. Guests can choose from a three-service menu, a four-service menu, or a longer dégustation. A lunch-only option, “Le menu de L'Atelier,” is served Tuesday through Friday (excluding holidays). À la carte is also available. The kitchen focuses on clean flavours and precise technique, letting the ingredients speak.
L'Atelier du Goût has earned a place in the Michelin guide, recognised for its consistent quality and thoughtful cooking. The restaurant is also wheelchair accessible, offers outdoor seating in fine weather, and provides takeaway service—including special holiday menus for Christmas and New Year's Eve.
The dining room is relaxed and unpretentious, a reflection of the chefs’ philosophy. Reservations are recommended, and the restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday). Whether you come for a midday lunch or a full evening tasting, Jordan and Clément’s passion for their craft is evident in every plate.
