The story
At Infini, the boundary between fine dining and feeling at home disappears. Michael and Kirsten van Geffen opened this small restaurant in Wahlwiller in 2010 with a clear idea: to serve gastronomic Modern French cuisine in an atmosphere that feels like an extension of your own living room. The result is an experience that is both refined and genuinely welcoming.
Michael van Geffen trained under Jannis Brevet, the three-Michelin-starred patron cuisinier of Inter Scaldes. That pedigree shows in the precision and artistry of each dish. Kirsten, named Most Talented Hostess of 2013 by Gault Millau, ensures the service is attentive without being intrusive. Together, they create a seamless evening where food and setting are in perfect harmony.
Infini works with a fixed menu that changes every month, built around seasonal and local ingredients. Guests choose between four or five courses, with the option to add house specialties like foie royale. The kitchen accommodates dietary needs where possible, though vegan options are not available. The current May menu features dishes such as octopus with lime and nduja, roasted red bass with fennel and chermoula, and lamb en croute with persillade and chicory – each plate a considered composition of flavors and textures.
The restaurant’s consistent quality has earned it a place in the Michelin Guide, receiving the Recommended distinction for 2026. It is a quiet nod to the dedication that Michael and Kirsten bring to their craft every day.
Infini also offers private dining and catering, where Michael cooks on location – at your home, office, or holiday rental. The menu is tailored to the occasion, and everything from ingredients to table setting is taken care of.
Whether you visit the intimate dining room in Wahlwiller or invite Infini to your own space, the experience is the same: thoughtful Modern French cuisine, served with warmth and without pretense.
