Eighty metres above the Rhine, on the 17th floor of the Bonn Marriott, Konrad's brings a relaxed, French-inspired approach to contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant's panoramic windows frame Bonn, the river and the Siebengebirge hills, creating a backdrop that is as striking as the food on the plate.

The kitchen team, led by an experienced crew, focuses on natural, seasonal and largely regional ingredients. The menu leans towards fish, complemented by first-class meat and seafood dishes. Starters such as the delicate veal filet tartare with winter truffle and shallot, or the cured mackerel with radish, mango and wasabi, set the tone. Main courses like confit sturgeon with Fine de Claire oyster, sea buckthorn and buttermilk, or Hereford beef filet with chard and oxtail praline, show a kitchen that balances precision with bold flavour. Vegetarians are well served too, with options like roasted cauliflower with miso, pomegranate and peanut, or kale with flower sprouts, carrot and black truffle.

The wine list is serious, with a strong selection of Champagnes and German Spätburgunders, plus a dedicated pairing for the monthly changing menus. A five-course "Inspiration" menu, currently featuring highlights like the veal tartare and confit sturgeon, offers a complete journey through the kitchen's repertoire.

This is also a restaurant that knows how to host. A dedicated private dining room seats up to 16, a larger separate room accommodates 50, and the entire space can host events for up to 180 guests. The adjoining Skybar, the highest in the Rhineland, serves cocktails and modern street-food classics until late.

Konrad's has earned a Michelin recommendation, a recognition that fits naturally with the restaurant's ambition: to offer a genuinely special evening without unnecessary formality.
