The story

Cho Restaurant: Autumn French Dining in Kaohsiung

A Seasonal Concept

Cho is the autumn French restaurant within S.S.A.W, a quartet of dining concepts that includes a bar, a patisserie, a French restaurant and a café, each tied to a season. The name stands for Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and the group’s philosophy is to bring the abundance of each season into every dish and space. Located on the second floor of Yuimom Residence in Kaohsiung, Cho is designed for autumn – a time of cooling winds and turning leaves.

The Culinary Philosophy

The kitchen team, part of the Yuimom Group, draws on techniques from Europe, America and Asia, applying them to the best ingredients Taiwan has to offer. They work closely with local farmers and fishermen to source fresh, seasonal produce – mountain vegetables, seafood, and other regional specialties. The menu changes with the calendar, prepared with precision and respect for the ingredient. The chefs are deeply focused on their craft, aiming to create dishes that leave a lasting impression.

The Setting

The dining room is defined by columns clad in Xiamu Tree Stone marble, a natural material that resembles a classical landscape painting. The warm, textured surfaces and soft lighting create the atmosphere of an abundant autumn forest. As the restaurant’s own description puts it, autumn’s finest gifts are the wind and the vivid red of maple leaves – a sensibility that carries through the entire experience.

Private Dining

Cho offers a range of private spaces: small rooms for four, medium for six, and a large room for twelve guests. The main dining area can also be reserved for up to 34, or combined with the private rooms to accommodate 55. These options make Cho suitable for both intimate dinners and larger celebrations.

Recognition

Cho has been recognised by the Michelin Guide with a Recommended distinction for 2026, a testament to the skill of its team and the quality of its modern cuisine. The award places Cho among the noteworthy dining destinations in Kaohsiung, where it continues to offer a distinctive French-inspired experience rooted in the seasons.
