The story
When the Mook Group opened Zenzakan in 2009, it marked a turning point for Asian fine dining in Germany. The restaurant’s spectacular 2,000-square-metre interior – a space that would feel at home in Dubai, Shanghai or New York – immediately set a new standard. Within months, Zenzakan brought the title of best foreign restaurant in Germany to Frankfurt, and it has never stopped refining its vision.
Zenzakan’s design is both grand and intimate. The main dining area flows into several modular rooms, making it equally suited for a quiet dinner or a large event. For the most private moments, the Geisha Room offers a burlesque chambre séparée for two, decorated with sensual photographic art, indirect lighting and a chaise longue – a favourite setting for marriage proposals. Valet parking is available, and the restaurant is fully wheelchair accessible.
The kitchen focuses on Asian cuisine at its highest level, drawing on techniques and traditions from across the continent. The Mook Group’s relentless commitment to quality has kept Zenzakan at the forefront of fine Asian dining in Germany. This dedication has been recognised with a Michelin Recommended award for 2026, a natural reflection of the restaurant’s consistent excellence.
Rather than resting on past achievements, Zenzakan has continuously evolved both visually and culinarily. The result is a restaurant that remains the benchmark for its category, where the reality of the experience surpasses even the most enthusiastic descriptions.
