The story
In the heart of Denzlingen, just outside Freiburg, the Rebstock-Stube has earned its place as a Michelin-recommended destination for classic cuisine. The restaurant’s philosophy is refreshingly straightforward: serve badisch-französische (Baden-French) dishes, modern and contemporary in interpretation, yet rooted in the region’s culinary traditions. The setting is equally inviting—a classic interior and a garden for outdoor seating, making it a welcoming spot for a relaxed meal or a special occasion.
A highlight of the Rebstock-Stube experience is the Menu du Jour served at the Table d’Hôte, a long wooden table positioned right in front of the kitchen. On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, guests can enjoy a three-course menu that changes regularly, offering a direct view of the kitchen in action. The menu itself reflects the seasons: starters like Feldsalat with speck, grapes, pumpkin, and walnuts, or a classic Gänseleberterrine with rhubarb and pepper-caramel. Main courses range from Kalbsrücken with morels and celery to Short-Rib in Boeuf-Bourguignon style, and desserts like Dulce Schokolade with blood orange.
The Rebstock-Stube is run by the Frey family and their team, who describe their approach as “casual fine dining” with a passion for hospitality. The atmosphere is familial, the team young and dynamic. On Sundays, the restaurant opens with a smaller, more casual bistro menu from 5 PM, perfect for easing into the new week. With its Michelin recommendation, the Rebstock-Stube proves that classic cuisine, served with warmth and consistency, remains a timeless pleasure.
