The story
The Stubersheimer Hof is a family affair. Dieter and Gabi Laib run the inn, with Gabi overseeing the service, while their daughter Martina Laib leads the kitchen. She began working here right after her training, earned her chef’s master certificate in 2013, and has been head chef since October 2017. The family’s shared goal is to offer every guest a small escape with “kulinarischen Schmankerln” – culinary treats that reflect their commitment to classic cuisine and country cooking.
The inn’s history reaches back to the 13th century, when it was first mentioned as a “Hube” in records tied to the Helfenstein family and Kaisheim Abbey. After passing through various hands, the estate fell into disrepair. The Laib family purchased it in 2004, spent five years renovating, and opened the Stubersheimer Hof as a hotel and restaurant in July 2009. Today, the seven guest rooms in country-house style offer a cosy home away from home.
Michelin Recognised the Stubersheimer Hof in 2026, a nod to the quality of its classic, regionally rooted cooking. The menu draws on the traditions of the Swabian countryside, prepared with heart and precision. The restaurant’s atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with outdoor seating available for pleasant days. Parking is on-site, making it an easy stop for those exploring the Geislingen area.
