The story
Kinfelts Kitchen & Wine sits in the heart of Hamburg’s HafenCity, directly beside the Elbphilharmonie. It is the second restaurant from chef Kirill Kinfelt, and the kitchen works with a regularly changing menu of refined, seasonal dishes. The style is contemporary with a French-international accent, and the emphasis is on high-quality regional ingredients.
The restaurant’s wine program is a central draw. The cellar holds over 600 labels, and the team is led by sommelier Maximilian Wilm, named Best Sommelier of Germany in 2019. Together with sommelier Christin Vollmer, he guides guests through a constantly updated selection. A separate tasting studio across from the restaurant hosts monthly wine tastings, including entry-level sessions for those new to wine.
The á la carte menu changes regularly, but current offerings include dishes such as beef tongue with tartare sauce, Carabinero carpaccio with basil and buttermilk, and a truffle pasta offered in two sizes. Wine pairings are a natural part of the experience. The restaurant earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a recognition of its consistent quality and thoughtful approach to both food and wine.
With outdoor seating available and a commitment to farm-to-table sourcing, Kinfelts Kitchen & Wine is a destination for anyone seeking contemporary cooking in a relaxed, well-informed setting.
