The story
At BECKERS in Hannover, chef and owner Christian Becker brings a calm, confident approach to French cuisine, grounded in years of training in Michelin-starred kitchens. After apprenticeships and sous chef roles at two-star establishments on Sylt and in Travemünde, he opened his own restaurant in the city’s List district, where he has built a loyal following for his modern, seasonal cooking.
The kitchen focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients and precise technique. Steaks are a signature: US and Australian beef, alongside Iberico pork from Spain, are treated with respect and served simply. The menu changes regularly, but the commitment to high-quality produce and clear flavours remains constant. This is French cuisine adapted to German tastes, with a lightness and clarity that reflects Becker’s fine-dining background.
The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The main dining room seats around 110 guests, while a separate private room accommodates up to 34. In warmer months, the outdoor terrace offers about 50 seats, making it a popular spot for lunch or dinner. There is also a wine bar where guests can enjoy a glass from a carefully selected list, or a beer from the tap.
BECKERS has been recognised by the Michelin Guide with a Recommended distinction, a reflection of Becker’s consistent quality and the restaurant’s place as one of Hannover’s most reliable addresses for French cuisine. Whether for a midday meal, a celebratory dinner, or a private event, BECKERS offers a comfortable setting for serious cooking.
