The story
At Anetseder in the small town of Haag near Hauzenberg, the Anetseder family has been running a country inn for three generations. Today, Elisabeth Anetseder and her partner Manuel Hagel are at the helm, bringing experience from Munich's star-gastronomy scene. Together with a dedicated team, they interpret Bavarian tradition with a light, creative hand.
The kitchen's motto: only homemade. The menu ranges from classic Schnitzel and Schweiners to Spaghetti with pumpkin, gambas and pink pepper. Exotic spices, fresh garden herbs and refined aromas create new favourites – always using high-quality, preferably regional products. Seasonal dishes like roasted Skrei (winter cod) with lentil-hazelnut ragout or braised Bavarian beef with potato dumplings and winter vegetables showcase this philosophy. The Michelin Bib Gourmand, awarded for good quality at a good value, recognises this honest, flavour-driven country cooking.
More than just food, Anetseder is about encounters and conversations – a true Wirtshauskultur. The warm, welcoming atmosphere extends to the outdoor seating in warmer months. Whether it's a Sunday lunch or a Thursday evening dinner, guests are invited to share a meal and a glass of wine from a carefully curated list. The kitchen also offers a surprise menu and a children's menu, making it a place for all ages.
