The story
Rim Wang brings authentic Thai cooking to Karlsruhe, founded by Peter Brecht and Boonchu Choti over twenty-six years ago. They traveled to Thailand to import every decorative element and furniture piece directly. Chef Boonchu Choti now leads the kitchen team, preparing creative and unconventional dishes entirely from scratch. Their daily workflow emphasizes skilled craftsmanship and absolute freshness, avoiding pre-made shortcuts.
The Schlemmer Atlas granted this venue 1.5 spoons for its focused culinary vision. Diners can order traditional five-course shrimp menus that follow long-standing regional recipes. The kitchen also specializes in complex Thai curry preparations, balancing aromatic herbs with rich coconut bases. These carefully constructed plates highlight traditional Thai techniques.
Buddha statues and handcrafted furnishings fill the dining area with a calm, earthy tone. The interiors avoid theatrical excess in favor of carefully sourced materials gathered across the region. Natural textures and warm lighting create a quiet backdrop for conversation. Guests settle into a setting that feels distinctly removed from standard urban dining rooms.
