The story
Since 1937, the Schwanen in Köngen has been a place for guests to arrive, feel at home, and eat well. Run by the Domon family in the third generation, the hotel-restaurant combines Swabian hospitality with a kitchen that has earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand year after year. Chef Patrick Domon and his team work with fresh produce from trusted regional suppliers, turning them into country cooking that balances local tradition with international flair.
The main restaurant seats 50 guests and serves seasonal menus that change throughout the year. For smaller groups, the Schwanenstüble offers a private oval table for up to ten, while the Zirbelstube can host up to 25 guests for exclusive dinners or business lunches. In warmer months, the garden terrace opens for al fresco dining. The Karl Benz Stube, named after the founder, is a more casual bistro space for evening drinks and lighter meals.
The restaurant’s Bib Gourmand recognition is a direct result of this honest, ingredient-driven approach. The team’s philosophy is simple: use what the region offers, treat it with respect, and let the flavours speak for themselves. Vegetarian and vegan options are prepared with the same care, and the kitchen also offers a business lunch during the week.
Whether you are staying overnight in one of the modern rooms or simply stopping by for dinner, the Schwanen delivers a consistent, personal experience. The family’s commitment to quality and warmth is evident in every detail, from the attentive service to the carefully sourced ingredients.
