The story
Owner and chef Isabelle Pering spent years working in Michelin-starred kitchens before opening bellasLOKAL in Bad Soden am Taunus. Here, she turns her own dream into reality: a restaurant where German cuisine is given modern, creative accents without losing its honest foundation. The kitchen is open, and the connection between plate and producer is tangible in every dish.
Sustainability and animal welfare are not slogans here – they are daily practice. The restaurant relies almost entirely on selected organic products from the region. Pork comes from Biohof May, where animals are raised with care. Beef is sourced from "Der Vogelsberg" farm in Romrod. Chicken arrives from Biohof Odefey&Töchter, whose hens enjoy spacious pasture and fruit trees. Vegetables are supplied by Gemüsehof Reinheimer, with small additional lots from Tomaten Heidi and Biohof Ochsenschläger. Fruit – apples, pears, quinces, plums, nuts – is harvested from the surrounding meadow orchards that ring the restaurant.
The menu changes regularly, adapting to what the local fields and orchards offer at any given moment. This commitment to freshness means that even the printed menu may see short-notice adjustments – a sign of genuine seasonality rather than rigidity. Wine and drinks are chosen with the same ecological and qualitative care.
In 2026, bellasLOKAL was awarded a Michelin Recommended distinction, a nod to the precision and integrity of Isabelle Pering’s cooking. The restaurant’s bright, open kitchen invites guests to watch the team at work. The atmosphere is unpretentious yet precise – a place for diners who value traceability, flavor, and a clear focus on the best that the region has to offer.
