The story
Overlooking Lake Constance, RIVA’s dining room is a study in understated elegance. The view draws the eye, while the interiors – furnished with the finest materials – create a space that feels both expansive and intimate. Outdoor seating is available for warmer days, and the restaurant is fully wheelchair accessible.
The kitchen at RIVA follows a philosophy that is “as simple as it is versatile.” The menu focuses on regional ingredients, prepared with a distinctive twist that bridges classic and international cuisines. The result is refined, unpretentious cooking that highlights the flavors of the Bodensee region. The Michelin inspectors have recognized this approach, awarding the restaurant a Recommended status for 2026 – a nod to its consistent quality and compelling dining experience.
Adjacent to the restaurant, the RIVA Bar & Wine offers a more relaxed setting for a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap by the fireplace. The wine program is serious: a walk-in cellar holds 3,500 bottles and 400 different labels, with a strong focus on European wines and local drops from the Bodensee. Private tastings for small groups can be arranged at a large wooden table near the cellar. Open daily from 12:30 to midnight.
