The story
Domschenke is a third-generation family-run restaurant in the small village of Mastholte, between Lippstadt and Rietberg. Katharina and Jochen Merkle welcome guests with the stated aim of putting a smile on their faces. Their cooking is handcrafted, relying on regional and seasonal ingredients, prepared with great attention to detail.
The restaurant’s approach has earned recognition: the Guide Michelin highlights its “very good value for money,” and the Varta guide awards it a “Tip – Cuisine.” This recognition is woven into the everyday experience, not a distant ambition.
