The story
Les Deux Dienstbach is the story of twin sisters Jennifer Himmel, born Dienstbach, and Nathalie Dienstbach, who grew up with a French mother, a baker father, and grandparents who farmed in Normandy. That heritage—the belief that less is more and that the product must be of the highest quality—shapes everything here. Since 2022, they have been running their restaurant in the historic manor house of Weingut Künstler on the edge of Hochheim’s old town, right above the Main River vineyards.
Head chef Christian Aguilar composes varied menus from the cuisine française, using the finest seasonal ingredients, preferably organic and regional. The result is French cooking that feels both authentic and of its place: the Rheingau. Guests can dine in an elegant yet relaxed interior, or on the terrace when the weather cooperates. The wine list draws heavily from the cellars of Weingut Künstler, supplemented by French selections and guest winemakers.
The sisters’ goal is simple: “that our guests leave happier than they came.” This spirit carries through events like the weekly Menu Surprise on Wednesdays, which begins with an aperitif in the barrique cellar, and the monthly Dimanche Midi Sunday lunch, where guests compose their own à la carte menu.
The restaurant has been listed as “Recommended” in the Michelin Guide for 2026, and has also earned praise from Gault & Millau. A local review described it as “excellent French cuisine in the comfort zone between a bistro and a Michelin-starred restaurant.” That balance—elegant, personal, and unpretentious—defines the experience at Les Deux Dienstbach.
