The story
Since 1987, Dobler's has been a fixture of Mannheim's dining scene. A few steps from the Wasserturm, the restaurant blends timeless elegance with a quiet, welcoming atmosphere. Warm natural tones, elegant chandeliers, and carefully set tables create a setting of understated grace. A recently renovated main hall seats 40 guests, while two private rooms—the Rosengartenzimmer for up to 20 and the Wasserturmzimmer for 7–8—offer space for celebrations and business dinners.
In early 2025, chef Eric Schumacher took full ownership of Dobler's, following a transition that began in 2023. A chef and pâtissier by training, Schumacher joined the team in 2013 and became sous-chef in 2019. His cooking respects the restaurant's traditions while adding fresh, nuanced touches. The kitchen's foundation is classic cuisine, reimagined with Mediterranean, Asian, and oriental accents. Sourcing is precise: game from the Allgäu, beef from Creekstone Farm in Kansas, poultry from France.
Dobler's holds a Michelin star, a testament to its consistent pursuit of quality. The menu changes regularly with the seasons. Alongside a tasting menu, guests can order à la carte at lunch and dinner, or choose a daily lunch offering. Vegetarian options are plentiful. A daily-changing lunch menu is also available. The service, led by Monika Lup, is attentive and warm—professional without being intrusive, making each visit feel personal.
