Cool Fine Dining in Nuremberg

In the heart of Nuremberg, inside a historic city villa with stucco ceilings and columns, Imperial by Alexander Herrmann & Michi Seitz offers a take on fine dining that is both cosmopolitan and rooted in the region. The Michelin-recommended restaurant describes itself as "Cool Fine Dining" – elegant but never stiff, sophisticated yet accessible.

Three Moods, Three Menus

The menu is built around three distinct moods. Herrmann’s Eleven is the Tradition Mood: eleven Franconian comfort dishes reimagined in fine-dining style, familiar in feeling but surprising in flavour. The Celebration Mood, Alles auf dem Tisch zum Teilen, presents fifteen highlights in tapas style, served in three rounds for sharing. And the Glamour Mood, Simply the Best, brings together Black Angus, lobster and caviar on one large platter – pure product love, served as soul food in fine-dining form.

Each menu comes with a carefully curated drink pairing, spanning Franconian wines, international bottles and a house-made gin-and-tonic selection.

Atmosphere and Space

The restaurant occupies the upper floor of what was once a café in 1900. Today, the open kitchen turns every table into a chef’s table. After dinner, guests can move to the bar for signature drinks or retreat to the hidden rooftop terrace overlooking Nuremberg’s rooftops. The space is air-conditioned, with outdoor seating available in season.

Imperial also offers private dining and catering, and can host events for groups from 10 to 250 guests across two concepts under one roof.

Concept Casual fine dining with a smart big-city flair. Three menus, 2–11 courses. Cuisine Alexander Herrmann and Michi Seitz unpretentiously refer to what they serve at the strictly arranged, minimalist tables as "Fucking Good Food". The three menus deliver culinary mood lifters. The "Celebration Mood" invites playful sharing, ranging from trout sashimi to tempura carp, while the "Glamour" menu stands for top-tier surf and turf. The new "Tradition Mood" features eleven sleekly reimagined Nuremberg classics: sauerbraten arrives as wagyu tataki, and bratwurst is deconstructed into dim sum with marjoram-spiced sausage meat, bread broth, and Chinese cabbage sauerkraut. A strong finish is guaranteed by the gingerbread fantasy of praline, chocolate, salted lemon, and hot orange-honey broth. Wine A compact cellar with standout labels, featuring many wines by the glass. Verdict The destination for vibrant (culinary) escapes from everyday life.
