The story
Since 2003, MINNECI has been a destination for Italian fine dining in the heart of Nuremberg. Housed in a picturesque Renaissance building from the 16th century, the restaurant originally opened by Leonardo and Elisabeth Minneci is now under the stewardship of Boris Jakir, their long-time restaurant manager, who took over in 2023. The kitchen team, led by an experienced crew, delivers what the restaurant calls “alta cucina” – refined Italian cuisine that is carefully updated with influences from the Mediterranean and Dalmatia, the patron’s homeland.
This commitment to quality has earned MINNECI a recommendation from the Michelin Guide, and the magazine Der Feinschmecker counts it among the 20 best Italian restaurants in Germany. The menu changes monthly, offering a choice of multi-course tasting menus, à la carte dishes, and a business lunch at midday. Dishes like vitello tonnato, artichoke parmigiana, tortelli with oxtail ragout and winter truffle, or char with beurre blanc and char caviar are prepared à la minute using fresh, seasonal, and regional produce.
The setting is elegant and welcoming, with a summer garden that transforms the courtyard into a leafy idyll of palm trees, roses, and lemon trees. For cooler months or private events, the historic cellar vault provides an atmospheric space. The wine list is a serious affair: over 350 labels from famous Super Tuscans and Barolos to indigenous Italian varieties, plus French champagnes and selected German, Austrian, and Croatian wines. Wine pairings are available for all menus, starting at €65.
Whether for a leisurely multi-course dinner or a focused business lunch, MINNECI brings a relaxed, deeply Italian sensibility to fine dining, rooted in two decades of tradition and a clear focus on genuine hospitality.
