The story
Perched within the historic walls of the Veitsburg, Atelier Tian offers a dining experience that is both sophisticated and refreshingly unpretentious. Owner and chef Chris Ott describes his style simply as “casual, gemütlich & lecker” – cozy and delicious – a promise delivered with high-quality, modern cuisine.
The kitchen focuses on international dishes with a strong regional connection. Ott’s cooking draws on French and Asian accents, with a menu that changes with the seasons. Guests can choose from three to seven courses, beginning with a welcome “Flowers4U,” a greeting from the kitchen, and a signature bread course, all leading to a sweet “finale Schnabulage.” The ethos extends beyond the plate, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare, ecological agriculture, and a thoughtfully curated wine list focused on Germany and France.
The restaurant’s setting is as memorable as the food. Housed in a baroque “Lustschlösschen” on the grounds of the Veitsburg, the dining room offers an unparalleled view over Ravensburg. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with only five tables in the front row for a maximum of twenty guests, ensuring an intimate experience. For private events, the space can accommodate up to fifty.
This commitment to handcrafted quality and a welcoming atmosphere has earned Atelier Tian a Michelin recommendation, marking it as a destination for those seeking genuine, skillfully prepared modern cuisine.
