The story
“Get some friends, stick together. Put your hands on the meal.” That’s the invitation from Sticky Fingers in Regensburg’s Untere Bachgasse. The space is both bar and restaurant, with a private room and outdoor seating for warmer months. The atmosphere is informal but intentional – a place where sharing plates and conversation are the point. The restaurant’s own words capture it: “enjoy yourself, just feel close. Stay near, stay curious.”
The kitchen works in a contemporary fusion style, drawing from cuisines across Europe and Asia. The menu changes regularly, but the approach is consistent: dishes designed to be shared. A three-course menu (65 € per person) is the standard, with a “Trust the Chef” five-course special offered once a month on Wednesday evenings. Past themes include “Wald & Wiese” (forest and meadow) with game and mushrooms, a truffle menu, and a playful “Street Food Deluxe” reimagining classics like fish & chips and döner.
The à la carte selection is equally direct: beef tartare with quail egg and potato crème fraîche, tandoori cauliflower with bulgur salad and pomegranate, or hot honey glazed fried chicken (a vegetarian version swaps in oyster mushrooms). Desserts stay on theme – a Sticky Snickers with Valrhona Jivara 40 %, salted caramel, peanut, milk ice cream, and balsamico.
For groups of four or more, the “JRE Sharing Moments” menu (89 € per person) offers a four-course spread served on platters in the middle of the table. The restaurant also accommodates dietary needs with advance notice: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergies are all possible.
In 2026, Michelin awarded Sticky Fingers a Bib Gourmand, its nod for “good quality, good value cooking.” The guide’s inspectors recognised the restaurant’s ability to deliver sophisticated, flavour-driven food without the formality – exactly what the Sticky Fingers team sets out to do every Tuesday through Saturday evening.
