The story
At Gastwirtschaft Ferdinand Reuter in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, chef Iris Bettinger and her team bring a passion for handcrafted cooking to every plate. The menu balances familiar kitchen classics with seasonal, regional specialties, offering something for every mood—whether a quick snack after work, a relaxed meal with friends, or a leisurely family dinner. This commitment to quality has earned the restaurant a Michelin recommendation, a mark of its consistent, thoughtful cooking.
The Gastwirtschaft was expanded in 2020, creating an urban meeting place across 180 square meters. With seating for 50 to 60 guests inside and additional tables on the summer terrace, the atmosphere is both convivial and unhurried. The setting encourages lingering over a Regional-Menü or sampling the small delights designed for guests in a hurry.
The restaurant’s approach is rooted in respect for ingredients and a supportive work culture. The kitchen emphasizes fresh produce, economic handling of food, and a high standard of presentation. Behind the stove, the team values creativity, professional development, and a balanced life—even maintaining regular holiday closures so staff can spend time with family. This philosophy translates directly into a dining experience that feels genuine, grounded, and consistently rewarding.
