The story
At Auers Schlosswirtschaft, cooking is a deliberate, unhurried craft. Astrid Hilse and her team prepare every dish from fresh, seasonal ingredients without relying on modern kitchen technology or industrial convenience products. This commitment to honest, handcrafted country cooking earned the restaurant a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 – a recognition of good quality, good value cooking that speaks directly to what they do.
The dining rooms are intentionally simple: bare wooden tables, minimalistic décor, and a touch of whimsy in the details. In winter, a crackling fire in the hearth warms the space, making it the perfect spot for a glass of red wine and a hearty bowl of soup. On summer evenings, guests move outside to the beer garden, where candlelight flickers under ancient linden and chestnut trees. Whether it’s a romantic dinner for two or a lively gathering with friends, there is always a corner that fits.
The menu changes with the seasons, rooted in the region’s larders. Expect robust wild game in colder months, light seasonal fare when the weather warms, and always the unmistakable taste of food made by hand. No shortcuts, no flash – just good cooking in a setting that lets the meal speak for itself.
Auers Schlosswirtschaft is open Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 pm. Reservations are taken by phone only.
