The story

Falconera – Michelin-Starred Classic French Dining in Singen, Germany

Falconera: A Michelin-Starred Refuge on the Schienerberg

Perched on the idyllic Schienerberg ridge, at the western edge of Lake Constance in Singen, Restaurant Falconera has been a destination for refined, seasonal cuisine for over twenty years. The restaurant occupies a lovingly maintained property in the small pilgrimage village of Schienen, where the pace slows and the setting invites unhurried indulgence.

Kitchen and Atmosphere

Chef Johannes Wuhrer leads the kitchen, crafting a thoughtful, season-driven menu of Classic French cuisine at the highest level. The restaurant's Michelin star recognizes cooking that is both accomplished and deeply rooted in the region—precise technique applied to the best produce of the season, without unnecessary flourishes. The result is a dining experience that feels grounded and sophisticated.

The interior and service match this tone. Anne Wuhrer and her team provide warm, unpretentious hospitality, creating an atmosphere that is elegant yet welcoming. The property offers outdoor seating, a well-curated wine list, and a commitment to farm-to-table sourcing that reflects the bounty of the Bodensee area.

The Experience

On the Schienerberg, time seems to stand still. Falconera is a place to spend an evening in quiet comfort, letting the changing seasons guide your meal. The menu evolves constantly, so the specifics are always a discovery—but the guiding philosophy remains steady: high-quality ingredients, classic technique, and a genuine sense of place.

Concept For more than 20 years, Johannes Wuhrer and his wife Anne have been offering culinary delights on the Schienerberg overlooking Lake Constance. Two menus are available in 4 or 6 courses, one of which is vegetarian. Cuisine Style Johannes Wuhrer brings inspiration from kitchens around the world to the lakeside: he serves duck liver on creamy polenta alongside glazed artichoke hearts and wine berries pickled in Moscato, pan-sears zander fillet on a bed of lemon thyme, and pairs it with green beans, glazed pear wedges, Fonduta ravioli sautéed in sage butter (filled with Italian mountain cheese), and a green curry foam with cockles. Wine Anne Wuhrer curates a European-focused wine selection to accompany the dishes. Atmosphere The historic half-timbered house boasts a cozy interior with tables dressed in white linens set against gray natural stone walls. In summer, a beautiful garden awaits. Conclusion A lovely setting and exceptional cuisine – a place you will gladly return to.
