The story

Gut Lärchenhof – Michelin-Starred Modern French in Sinnersdorf, Pulheim

Tradition and Modernity at Gut Lärchenhof

At Gut Lärchenhof in Sinnersdorf, near Cologne, the focus is on genuine hospitality. Here, personal relationships and individual care are as important as the food. The team’s philosophy is rooted in traditionally grown values, modern gastronomic elegance, and a genuine joy in service. The result is a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests feel truly welcomed.

The restaurant is split into two areas: a fine-dining Gourmet-Restaurant and a more casual Bistro. Both are served by the same attentive team, fostering a relaxed and unpretentious vibe. In summer, the terrace becomes a green oasis with views over the golf course.

The Chef and His Kitchen

Küchenchef Torben Schuster leads the kitchen, having been named “Entdeckung des Jahres” (Discovery of the Year) by Gault & Millau in 2019 and “Koch des Jahres” (Chef of the Year) by the Gusto Gourmet Führer in 2023. His cooking is a distinct, world-open style built on a classic French foundation, with clear influences from Japanese cuisine and the maritime, worldly traditions of the Netherlands—shaped by his time as sous-chef at De Librije with Jonnie Boer.

The cuisine is described as elegant, filigree, and transparent. A degustation menu (typically seven courses) showcases this, featuring dishes like a hamachi tartare, a confit brook trout with kimchi, or a poached oyster and cod with a creamy velouté. Each plate is a study in refined flavors and precise technique, all using market-fresh produce.

A Michelin-Starred Experience

Gut Lärchenhof’s high-quality cooking has earned it a Michelin star. The team sees these accolades—including multiple Gault & Millau awards—as confirmation of their passionate commitment. But above all, they measure success by one thing: a guest who feels well cared for, remembers their visit fondly, and returns.
