The story
Aria Restaurant in Stuttgart reimagines contemporary Italian cuisine through the lens of founder Giuseppe Zuccarelli. He chose the name to reflect both airiness and the focused emotion of an operatic aria. Drawing on decades of hospitality work, he deliberately steps away from familiar pizzeria formulas. This commitment to refined simplicity recently secured the kitchen two spoons in the Schlemmer Atlas guide.
The open kitchen showcases techniques that highlight seasonal produce rather than heavy sauces. Diners often order the spaghettini paired with local anglerfish, which arrives alongside delicate strands pulled from a warm parmesan wheel. Grilled sea bream rounds out the menu with a crisp skin and simple herb seasoning. These compositions demonstrate how modern Italian cooking relies on precise heat management and clean flavors.
The dining room sits inside the ground floor of the Skyline Tower on Stuttgart’s Pragsattel hill. Designer elements feature soothing blue walls contrasted against rich timber flooring and bronze wine racks. Floor-to-ceiling glazing floods the seating area with natural daylight during service hours. Guests can also step onto the sun terrace or gather at the long wooden bar for evening aperitifs.
