The story

Hupperts Stuttgart – Michelin-Starred Modern Seasonal Cuisine

Pure Regional Taste

Hupperts, on Gebelsbergstraße in Stuttgart, operates with a clear philosophy: Reiner Geschmack aus der Region – pure taste from the region. The kitchen works with fresh, seasonal products, building each menu around what is at its peak. The result is a Modern Cuisine that feels grounded and precise, never fussy.

A Michelin-Starred Approach

The restaurant holds one Michelin star, a recognition of its high-quality cooking. The award underscores what regulars already know: every course is composed with care, letting the ingredients speak. The dining experience is built around a tasting menu that changes daily – a reflection of the kitchen’s commitment to seasonality and spontaneity.

The Evening Menu

Dinner at Hupperts is a multi-course affair, presented as a choice of five (€144) or six (€154) courses. A recent example menu opened with house-made bread and a greeting from the kitchen, then moved through dishes like duck liver with apple, celery, and brioche; salmon with carrot, cauliflower, and sesame; skrei (cod) with pointed cabbage, lentil, and horseradish; beef with parsley root, onion, and king oyster mushroom; goat’s fresh cheese with rhubarb, hazelnut, and thyme; and a dessert of orange with pumpkin seed and vanilla, finished with petits fours.

These dishes are representative, not fixed – the kitchen composes anew each day from what the region offers. The style is clean, layered, and deeply savory, with a quiet confidence that comes from knowing exactly when to intervene and when to step back.

Atmosphere and Setting

The space is described as air-conditioned, with outdoor seating available in season. But the real atmosphere is set by the food: unhurried, focused, and built on pure, concentrated flavour. Hupperts is a restaurant for those who want to taste Stuttgart’s best – and nothing else.

Concept Single-menu concept with 5 or 6 courses. Culinary Style Michael Huppert describes his cuisine as "pure taste" – and certainly doesn't overpromise with it. The dishes he likes to personally serve from the kitchen to the guests are as thoughtfully conceived as they are delicious, beautifully arranged on the plates. Mediterranean nuances are always pleasantly evident here, much like in the veal with tomatoes, burrata, and basil as an appetizer, or the subsequent salmon with fennel, passion fruit, and snow peas. Classic and excellent is the corn-fed poularde with chanterelles and broccoli as the main course, followed by a light refreshment in the form of fresh cheese with apricot, almonds, and thyme. Wine A solid, professionally curated wine list. Atmosphere The simple, well-kept ambiance of an unpretentious neighborhood restaurant "around the corner". The charming Marianne Huppert ensures warm, welcoming hospitality. Conclusion Simply good food, without any fuss.
