The story
At Aifach Reisers, the kitchen follows a straightforward philosophy: cook every day what the market offers and what the team itself feels like eating. The result is seasonal, regional cuisine that the restaurant calls "aifach & gut" – simple and good. This classic, market-driven approach keeps the menu fresh and tied to the rhythms of Würzburg's producers.
The restaurant sits on Würzburg’s Marktplatz, directly opposite the Marienkapelle. The building once housed the city's market hall, and that history inspired the concept. The team describes the venue as a culinary meeting point that cannot be pinned down to a single idea – a "Wandelbar" that changes its mood, offering, and clientele throughout the day. It is a pleasurable fluid space, a good place for Würzburg. When the weather cooperates, outdoor seating extends the experience onto the square.
In 2026, Aifach Reisers earned a Michelin Recommended distinction, a nod to its honest, unpretentious cooking and its commitment to seasonal, regional ingredients.
