The story
Dragon Inn Seafood Restaurant has been a fixture on the shores of Castle Peak Bay since 1939. For over eight decades, this Tuen Mun establishment has built its reputation on one thing: straightforward, high-quality seafood. The restaurant’s longevity speaks for itself, and its consistency has not gone unnoticed by the Michelin guide, which has awarded it a Bib Gourmand every year from 2011 to 2025 – a remarkable 15-year run that recognises good quality, good value cooking.
The restaurant occupies a standalone building at 12 Tsing Ha Lane, offering a genuine Chinese banquet hall atmosphere. It features Chinese-style private rooms suitable for private functions, with a maximum capacity of 32 tables. The rooms are fitted with LCD televisions and a 140-inch projection TV, often used for watching football matches or singing karaoke. For larger events, the restaurant provides wedding banquet menus and accepts customised menus. On-site amenities include car parking, an electric vehicle charging station, and a rooftop garden, making it a practical choice for group gatherings.
The kitchen keeps its focus on seafood, with a menu that highlights time-honoured preparations. Among the restaurant’s featured recommendations are a Smoked Pomfret sided with Salad, Steamed Glutinous Rice with Gross Crab and Minced Garlic, Braised Whelks with Chinese Herb Wine, Baked Oyster with Port Wine, Baked Baby Lobster with Cheese, and Braised Fresh Abalone with Oyster Sauce. The menu also extends to barbecue items, dim sum, and a selection of wines, but the seafood remains the clear draw. These are dishes built on fresh ingredients and classic Cantonese technique, not on fleeting trends.
