The story
It all began with a single wine press house. Over time, seven more were added, and today Casa Christa is a 45,000-square-meter estate on Kis Gella Hill above Balatonszőlős, near Lake Balaton. The press houses have been thoughtfully refurbished in Tuscan style, a character that echoes throughout the property. The landscape is dotted with 2,000 almond trees and offers sweeping views of the Balaton Uplands.
The estate welcomes couples, families, friends, and solo travelers alike. Houses are spaced to ensure privacy, yet groups can gather for shared activities. The property lies on a nature reserve, with hiking trails, cycling routes, and horse riding nearby. Easily reached by car, Casa Christa is close to Balatonfüred and Tihany, but removed from the busiest tourist areas.
At the heart of the estate is the restaurant, housed in the club house. It serves Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. The kitchen is open throughout the day, offering fine meals paired with an extensive selection of wines from both southern and northern Balaton wineries. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with outdoor seating that takes full advantage of the panoramic views.
Casa Christa’s restaurant has been recognised with a Michelin Bib Gourmand award for two consecutive years. This distinction highlights good quality cooking at reasonable prices, confirming the restaurant’s commitment to accessible excellence.
