The story
Rutin opened in Budaörs, just outside Budapest, in December 2020 – a moment that might have silenced many restaurants. Yet owners Pallag Fanni and chef Pallag Dávid turned the pandemic into a launchpad. By 2022, the restaurant had earned its first Michelin recommendation, and Dávid was named Young Chef Talent by Dining Guide. The kitchen’s modern cuisine approach is both grounded and adventurous: local produce is the foundation, but the techniques and combinations are progressive, occasionally fusing flavours in unexpected ways.
What began as a bistro-style concept evolved in summer 2024 into a full-evening gastro experience. Guests are guided through multiple courses that reflect Dávid’s personal vision. “I want you to feel at home, but tonight I’m the cook,” he says. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, with counter dining and outdoor seating available. The tagline “gastronomy without compromise” is not a boast – it’s a promise visible in every plate.
The menu changes with the seasons, always rooted in Hungarian ingredients. The kitchen’s instinctive sense of balance sets the dishes apart. Though the exact lineup shifts, the style is unmistakable: clean, modern, and deeply satisfying. A Michelin recommendation has been a consistent marker of quality since 2022, and the restaurant continues to refine its offering without losing its warm, personal character.
