Zincenco Kitchen began as a weekly dinner party among friends. Those Wednesday evenings became so cherished that "Wednesday night" became a byword for any gathering, regardless of the day. The team set out to recreate that exact feeling—a high-quality, unforgettable dinner in a cozy, friendly environment, free from the rigid formality often associated with fine dining.

The restaurant operates out of an apartment, where guests buzz in as if visiting friends. With fewer than ten tables and an open kitchen, the atmosphere is both intimate and welcoming. Executive Chef-Owner Zincenco Igor and Head Chef Horváth Dénes lead the kitchen, while Front of House Manager Medák Zsuzsa ensures the service remains warm and attentive.

The Food and Philosophy

The menu draws primary inspiration from Hungarian and Slavic cuisine, presenting classic dishes that are essentially reinterpreted. Sourcing is paramount: all raw materials come from small domestic producers, and the organic wine selection is procured exclusively from small wineries.

Guests choose between a 5-course and a 7-course tasting menu. The menu changes seasonally, but past dishes have included an entrée of aubergine, sour cream, and foie gras; a beef tongue, cabbage, and dried tomato course; and a stroganoff of sirloin, mushroom, and fermented cucumber. The menu is also available in gluten-free, vegetarian, and pescatarian versions with prior notice. Drink pairings range from a non-alcoholic option to the "Best of Hungary" wine pairing and a Zincenco Premium selection.

Recognition and Atmosphere

Zincenco Kitchen is a Michelin Recommended restaurant, recognized for its quality and unique approach. In 2025, Tripadvisor also named it among the Top 25 Best Date Night Restaurants in the World. The restaurant has been ranked the Best Restaurant in Budapest on Tripadvisor since October 2019.

Yet the team's focus remains on the guest experience: slow courses, soft candlelight, and moments that linger. This is modern cuisine served with genuine hospitality, where the goal is simply to share an unforgettable dinner.
