The story
Since March 2016, Pickle has brought a sophisticated approach to traditional Indian food to Dublin’s Camden Street. Chef Sunil Ghai and manager Benny Jacob run the restaurant with genuine warmth and attention to detail, earning it a Michelin Recommended award in 2026.
Sunil Ghai is widely regarded as the foremost Indian chef in Ireland. Born in Gwalior, central India, he trained with the Oberoi group before moving to Dublin. His accolades include Food & Wine’s Chef of the Year and multiple Best Chef in Ireland awards from the Restaurant Association. Benny Jacob, the restaurant manager, has built a devoted following through his genuinely warm, personal approach to front-of-house. Together, they have created a dining room that feels both refined and welcoming.
Pickle’s menu is built on the authentic tastes of North India, prepared with the best of Irish ingredients. The kitchen offers a regularly changing à la carte menu plus a dedicated group menu for parties of eight or more. On request, the chef will create a bespoke tasting menu using seasonal and local produce, drawing on traditional North Indian techniques. The result is cooking that balances depth of spice with fresh, locally sourced flavours.
The restaurant on Camden Street is a place where every detail matters – from the carefully chosen produce to the unhurried, attentive service. Benny Jacob’s warmth turns a meal into a memorable evening, ensuring guests return time and again. Whether you choose from the main menu or request a custom tasting experience, Pickle delivers a consistently exceptional take on North Indian cuisine in Dublin.
