The story
At Enoclub in Alba, tradition and innovation meet under the guidance of chefs Luca Boffa and Marco Serra. This restaurant has been a fixture on Piazza Michele Ferrero since 1991, earning a Michelin Recommended distinction for its refined take on Piedmontese cuisine.
Enoclub occupies two distinct spaces. The ground-floor dining room is sleek and modern, with outdoor seating beneath the arcades of the central square. Below, the ancient underground “crota” offers a more intimate atmosphere, its stone walls a quiet contrast to the lively piazza above. Whether lunch or dinner, the setting adapts to the mood.
The kitchen is led by two chefs whose shared philosophy honours local ingredients without being bound by the past. Together, Boffa and Serra reinterpret the culinary culture of the Langhe with creativity and respect. Their Piedmontese roots are evident, but the cooking is unmistakably contemporary – a balance that defines the restaurant’s Italian contemporary approach.
Autumn brings Alba’s white truffle to the forefront. Enoclub celebrates this “diamond of the kitchen” in dishes designed to let its aroma speak. During the International Truffle Fair, the restaurant becomes a destination for those seeking this seasonal treasure. The truffle is treated with restraint, allowing the ingredient – not technique – to take centre stage.
Enoclub’s wine list is thoughtfully curated, a natural complement to the food. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday lunch service and Monday closure. Air conditioning, wheelchair access, and table service ensure comfort, while the outdoor seating invites lingering on warm evenings. Every visit here is an opportunity to experience the conviviality and rich gastronomy of Alba and the Langhe, in a place where tradition meets refinement.
