The story
In the historic center of Assisi, Benedikto occupies the highest part of the Nun Assisi Relais, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Rocca Maggiore and Rocca Minore. The restaurant has its own street-level entrance, independent from the hotel, and in spring and summer a terrace opens above the city's rooftops. The view is part of every meal, changing with the light as evening falls on the medieval stone.
Benedikto’s kitchen works with a clear vision: cuisine that listens to the territory, respects the ingredient, and transforms it with simplicity. The menu follows the season, drawing on Umbrian tradition with precise, contemporary technique. At lunch, dishes are light and authentic, ideal after a morning exploring Assisi’s historic streets or a visit to the Roman Spa. At dinner, the cooking expresses the best of the region—local ingredients, careful preparations, pairings that tell the story of Umbria. The aperitivo hour, with a glass of Umbrian wine and local produce, marks the natural transition from afternoon to evening.
The restaurant has earned a Michelin Recommended recognition, a testament to its consistent quality and its ability to let the landscape and the plate speak in harmony. The warm lighting of the dining room, the direct view of the trecento fortress, and the terrace at sunset create an atmosphere that guests remember long after the meal.
This is Italian Contemporary and Modern Cuisine rooted in place—a kitchen that transforms the ingredients of Umbria into an intimate journey through the flavors of this land.
