The story
At the historic address on Via del Cavaliere 59, Osteria TuMa is the convivial sibling of Ristorante I Pupi. It’s the place where chef Tony Lo Coco and his wife Laura—whose family were famed pastry chefs and rosticcieri in Bagheria—translate their signature cuisine into the most authentic, shared spirit of Sicilian tradition. The same passion that drove Tony since childhood, when he couldn’t be kept away from the stove, now finds expression here in a more relaxed, welcoming setting.
TuMa’s menu is rooted in the island’s larder and changes with the seasons. Dishes draw on the deep flavours of Sicily—from the sea and the land—prepared with the modern sensibility that earned the Lo Cocos a loyal following. The result is cooking that feels both familiar and surprising: a true taste of contemporary Sicilian cuisine, served in an atmosphere built for lingering.
In 2026, Michelin awarded TuMa a Bib Gourmand, its distinction for good quality, good value cooking. It’s a fitting nod to an osteria that delivers such precise, flavour-driven food without pretension—proof that the Lo Cocos’ dream of cooking for their guests, in a beautiful and pleasant context, continues to thrive in two locations, with one soul.
